Tile Box with Abstract Discs Lid

Don Drumm is known for bringing the well received, mid-century brutalist style into people’s homes and lives with everyday objects for decades. This pewter box is designed and hand crafted by Don. You'll find Don's signature on the underside of each lid. Additionally, each of these boxes comes with a "Certificate of Authenticity" that Don personally signed.

This box is from the abstract collection Don designed. The lid for this collection has a distinctive design of four roundels - each with a different abstract pattern of wavy lines and concentric circles.

One specific design element you’ll find in each box is the interior base tile. In this pewter box, the interior, central, base consists of a coiled snake. The snake’s belly has the pattern of dots that appear more like cross-hatching. The scales on the snake’s back are small, rectangular objects with circles cut-out from it.

The first side of this box has a design of one of Don’s phoenix birds, gracefully stretching its wings. Next, you will find a sun - smaller in size, and constructed in a similar way as the central interior snake. Surrounding this sun and serving as the background of this side of the box are sun rays. Following this side, is an abstract creation that has swirls that travel all through the design. Lastly, there is a sun that is similar to the gallery’s logo from many years ago. It is enveloped by three, thin, hand drawn circles of pewter.
