Tile Box with Crescent Moon Lid

You'll find Don's signature on the underside of each lid. Additionally, each of these boxes comes with a "Certificate of Authenticity" that Don personally signed.

This box is from the Moon collection Don designed. Box lids in this collection have the design of a waxing crescent moon. For the profile of this piece, its face has a nose with character, soulful gaze, and a gentle smile. One large star at its tip and many small stars can be found in the background.

One specific design element you’ll find in each box is the interior base tile. In this pewter box, the interior, central, base consists of a design that has a circle superimposed on a background of thinly spaced lines. For the first slide, there is a motif from the inner base tile used again here. Deeper, more intense wavy lines are the background on this design. A thicker edged circle is superimposed against this background here too. For the second side, there is a bird with outstretched wings. It is positioned in the design, flying downward. At its head, there is a circular design as well. This is followed by the third side, also bringing circles to the forefront. A half circle that is highly textured is on the right. On the left side, are ten circles that are side by side, separated by a thin line. For the final side, the message “Art is a Labor of Love,” can be found.
