Tile Box with Sun Lid

Don Drumm is known for bringing the well received, mid-century brutalist style into people’s homes and lives with everyday objects for decades. This pewter box is designed and hand crafted by Don. You'll find Don's signature on the underside of each lid. Additionally, each of these boxes comes with a "Certificate of Authenticity" that Don personally signed.

This box is from the Sun face collection Don designed. Boxes in this collection have the signature Don Drumm sun face with expressive eyes, distinctive nose, and a gentle smile.

One specific design element you’ll find in each box is the interior base tile. In this pewter box, the interior, central, base consists of a ridged circle with a diamond shape in its center. For the first exterior tile, you’ll find the text, “Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.” On the next side of this box, is a highly textured design of flowers. For the next tile, there is a small turtle design moving toward the text, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” And for the final side of this box, there are 8 sea shell designs. The sea shells have vertical ridges in their design.
