Tile Box with Cross Lid

Don Drumm is known for bringing the well-received, mid-century brutalist style into people’s homes and lives with everyday objects for decades. This pewter box is designed and hand-crafted by Don. You'll find Don's signature on the underside of each lid. Additionally, each of these boxes comes with a "Certificate of Authenticity" that Don personally signed.

This box is from the Christian collection Don designed. The lid for this collection has a symbol that represents “Jesus Christ Conquers.” Across the top of the Greek Cross is the Greek abbreviation for Jesus Christ and across the base is the word “Nika” that translates to “conquers.”

One specific design element you’ll find in each box is the interior base tile. In this pewter box, the interior, central, base of a modest circle is split with three elongated rectangular pieces. At the base of the first exterior side, is a half-circle design that can be seen to represent the sun with its rays. Above this are two columns of circles that complete this abstract design. The second side has a version of Rho and a cross. Following this, the third side has a highly textured circle with an abstract “X” across the circle design. The final side has the phrase “Be still and know that I am.” (Psalm 46:10)
