Tile Box with Crescent Moon Lid

You'll find Don's signature on the underside of each lid. Additionally, each of these boxes comes with a "Certificate of Authenticity" that Don personally signed.

This box is from the Moon collection Don designed. Box lids in this collection have the design of a waxing crescent moon. For the profile of this piece, its face has a nose with character, soulful gaze, and a gentle smile. One large star at its tip and many small stars can be found in the background.

One specific design element you’ll find in each box is the interior base tile. In this pewter box, the interior, central, base consists of a design that consists of nine half circles. For the first side, there is an iconic Don Drumm sun. Highly textured, yet its personality of the face’s features comes through clearly. Following this side, there is a highly complex patterned design consisting of lines in all directions. This is contrasted with the third side where there is a half circle on the diagonal with undulating lines that appear to be moving away from the half circle - similar to waves that emanate from a raindrop hitting water in a pond. The final side consists of rhomboid shapes that are stacked similarly as bricks are.
