Tile Box with Sun Lid

Don Drumm is known for bringing the well received, mid-century brutalist style into people’s homes and lives with everyday objects for decades. This pewter box is designed and hand crafted by Don. You'll find Don's signature on the underside of each lid. Additionally, each of these boxes comes with a "Certificate of Authenticity" that Don personally signed.

This box is from the Sun face collection Don designed. Boxes in this collection have the signature Don Drumm sun face with expressive eyes, distinctive nose, and a gentle smile.

One specific design element you’ll find in each box is the interior base tile. In this pewter box, the interior, central, base consists of four X’s, reminiscent of tic-tac-toe. The first exterior side consists of geometric shapes that are elongated and slightly askew. You’ll find on the next side, diagonally placed grooves that give a darker appearance to the pewter. On the third side, you will find organically placed lines and grooves. Embedded within these grooves, you’ll find circles, stars, and floral patterns. On the final side of this box, the lines are again diagonally placed on the side and each line has multiple curves and in some areas of the side, the curves line up to give the perception of different heights and valleys.
