Tile Box with Celtic Knot Lid

Don Drumm is known for bringing the well-received, mid-century brutalist style into people’s homes and lives with everyday objects for decades. This pewter box is designed and hand-crafted by Don. You'll find Don's signature on the underside of each lid. Additionally, each of these boxes comes with a "Certificate of Authenticity" that Don personally signed.

This box is from the Celtic collection Don designed. The lid for this collection has an interlocking Celtic knot pattern in the center. Surrounding this knot, there is a thin circular border.

One specific design element you’ll find in each box is the interior base tile. In this pewter box, the interior, central, base consists of a design that focuses on texture rather than an image. The first side of this box has diagonal markings in the design. You can see textures that conjure up ideas of chains, circles, and wavy lines. On the second side, there are deep grooves that seem to move vertically. For the third side, there is again a series of diagonal grooves, wavy lines, and circles all arranged abstractly. On the final side, there is a circle in the upper left corner that is filled in with smaller circles. Contrasting to this circular shape are lines on the opposite side of the design that are bold and on the diagonal.
