Tile Box with Crescent Moon Lid

You'll find Don's signature on the underside of each lid. Additionally, each of these boxes comes with a "Certificate of Authenticity" that Don personally signed.

This box is from the Moon collection Don designed. Box lids in this collection have the design of a waxing crescent moon. For the profile of this piece, its face has a nose with character, soulful gaze, and a gentle smile. One large star at its tip and many small stars can be found in the background.

One specific design element you’ll find in each box is the interior base tile. In this pewter box, the interior, central, base consists of a design that has a circle that is split at its center. It has three irregular shaped sections separating it. For the first side, there is a half circle that is highly textured on the right. On the left side, are ten circles that are side by side, separated by a thin line. For the second side, you will find a nature scene with an insect friend resting on a leaf. Following this, on the third side, there is a design more reminiscent of brutalist design principles. It is a highly textured background of lines. On top of these lines is a circle that breaks up all the background lines. Lastly, the fourth side has intricately formed abstract lines that create their own textured background.
